H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, visited the Malta Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, where he was shown around and briefed on what Malta has to offer both in terms of tourism as well as business opportunities.
The amazing talent of dancers, singers, and musicians from Malta joined together in an interdisciplinary performance wowed the Al Wasl Plaza at @Expo2020Dubai, as they used their expression of art to take the audience through a unique journey inspired by Malta’s history, influences, traditions, and culture.
The raising of the Maltese flag at the Al Wasl Plaza kicked off the celebration of Malta Day at Expo 2020 Dubai, with the Hon. Minister for Economy and Industry Silvio Schembri leading the Maltese delegation and delivering the speech during the Official Ceremony.
This was followed by a Cultural Programme comprising music and dance performances showcasing Maltese talent, including a percussion piece, an adaptation of an aria from the rock opera ‘Gensna’, a contemporary dance trio to Maltese ethnic music; and an adapted version of ‘Viva Malta’.
With Malta Day at Expo 2020 Dubai around the corner, this morning we started welcoming the singers, dancers, musicians, performers, and all other persons involved in the cultural programme.
As they shared their enthusiasm and passion for their art, we are even more eager to view them perform and express their talent!
We are excited to share the updated programme, and we look forward for you to join us in the celebration of Malta Day!
Only a few more days remain for the celebration of Malta Day at Expo 2020 Dubai on January 19th, but we really can’t wait to share our story and culture through artistic expression and the performances at Al Wasl Plaza and the Sun Stage near our Pavilion.
